Scholarship in service of practice
The Journal of Applied Wealth Management publishes original, double-blind peer-reviewed research and practitioner scholarship on wealth management, financial planning, taxation, and applied household finance — written to be read, and used, by scholars and practitioners alike.
The Journal of Applied Wealth Management (JAWM) is a peer-reviewed academic journal established to bridge the persistent gap between the research literature and the daily practice of wealth management. Too much of what scholars learn never reaches the advisor's desk; too much of what practitioners know never enters the literature. JAWM exists to carry knowledge in both directions.
The Journal publishes empirical and theoretical research, conceptual frameworks, practitioner case studies, and book reviews across the full spectrum of personal and household finance. Every research article is subject to double-blind peer review, and publication decisions rest with the Editor-in-Chief on the recommendation of the editorial board.
JAWM is of interest to academics, practicing wealth managers and financial planners, attorneys and accountants serving private clients, financial-service providers, regulators, educators, and students preparing to enter the profession.
The Journal is now accepting manuscripts for its inaugural volume. Early submissions receive full consideration and expedited review. See the author guidelines to prepare your manuscript.
JAWM welcomes normative and empirical research on the theory and practice of wealth management, including but not limited to the following areas:
Manuscripts are screened by the Editor-in-Chief for fit and quality, then assigned to at least two referees for double-blind review — authors do not learn the identity of reviewers, and reviewers do not learn the identity of authors. Decisions are rendered as accept, revise and resubmit, or decline, with substantive referee comments returned to authors in every case.
Work submitted to JAWM must be original, must not be under consideration elsewhere, and must remain exclusive to the Journal until an editorial decision is rendered. Accepted authors assign publication rights to the Journal and receive first-publication credit with full attribution.
Every research article is evaluated by at least two qualified reviewers.
Author and reviewer identities are withheld in both directions throughout the process.
